RIC ran away with a 12-4 win on Friday, January 22nd against St. Joe’s College of Maine. Bobby Isabella scored a hat trick and had a pair of assists while Bo Atwell, Greg Dicomitis and Brad Conway all scored two a piece. Dan Nadeau, Kyle Short and Mike Young garnered three points each in the game, Nadeau’s via 1 goal & 2 assists and Short and Young via 3 assists a piece. Goaltender John Sgambato stopped 16 of 19 in the first two periods, and fellow netminder Alan Duda saved 5 of 6 in the third.

RIC improved their record to 12-2-0-2 with this win, and look forward to travelling up to Maine to face off for the second time against the University of Maine on Saturday.

RIC drove up to the DCU Center in Worcester to face off against Worcester Polytechnic Institute for the 2010 re-match. About a month earlier, RIC edged the Goats in overtime 6-5, and history repeated itself on this Sunday night at the home of the Worcester Sharks. Once again, RIC squeaked by WPI in overtime, this time with the score of 5-4, due to goaltender John Sgambato’s 26 saves on 30 shots and Gregory Dicomitis game winning overtime goal. The goal was Dicomitis‘ eighth of the year, making him RIC’s 5th top scorer despite the injury suffered on 10/23 @ Brown, causing him to miss ten games. Tom Votta also announced his return to the squad with a power-play goal. Ariel Kurpiewski, Bo Atwell and Bobby Isabella also scored a goal each.

In the last game before winter break, RIC stayed hot as they rolled past long time rivals Lyndon State 8-2. Dan Nadeau and Rob Reall led the way with 2 goals a piece, while Kyle Short, Seth Tobias, Bo Atwell and Mike Young all notched a goal each. Nick Gannon made 3 goals possible with 3 assists. Netminder Eric Moscarelli stopped 36 of 38 to secure his seventh win.

Dan Nadeau’s two goals and one assist bring him to a tie with Bobby Isabella for RIC’s points leader at the break with 28. It also puts him at 45th in the nation with goals scored (18) even though he has only 15 games to his name while most players on the list are above 20 games played. Bobby Isabella’s 16 assists to date put him at exactly 100th in the nation in assists, though he also only has 15 games under his belt.

Every player in a RIC jersey notched a point in this goalfest up in Maine on a snowy Saturday. RIC scored a season high 13, but the Monks of St. Joe’s notched 7 to keep it close. Bo Atwell scored 2 and had 4 assists and his linemate Bobby Isabella scored 2 and had 2 assists. Kyle Short also added four points to his name with a goal and three assists. Freshmen Rob Reall and Larry Anthony scored 2 each, while Brad Conway, Nico Drougas, Seth Tobias and Michael Young all scored one a piece. Goaltender Eric Moscarelli stopped 14 of 21.

RIC bounced back on this Friday match-up against WPI. Although WPI sent the game to overtime with 6 minutes left in the third, forward Rob Reall scored an exciting game winner; dangling around a couple WPI defenders and the goaltender. Bo Atwell, J.P. Caparco and Mike Young scored the other three goals in the 4-3 win and goaltender Eric Moscarelli stopped 23 of 26. The assists were abundant in this win too; signifying the teamwork RIC executed to bounce back from a sub-standard week prior. Rob Reall, Joe Delsignore, Robert Isabella, Dan Nadeau, Nico Drougas, Brad Conway and even Eric Moscarelli notched an assist.

Brad Conway assisted Bo Atwell’s goal on this Saturday match-up with long-time rivals Connecticut College. It ended up being the only RIC goal of the night, however, as Conn. College stormed past RIC 8-1. Goaltender John Sgambato stopped 22 of 27 shots in 51 minutes of playing time while Alan Duda filled in the remaining 9 minutes and saved 8 of 11 shots. RIC’s season record drops to 8-2-0-2 with this loss.

Dan Nadeau scored four goals, while Kyle Short and Bo Atwell scored one apiece in the 7-6 overtime loss to Maine University. D-man Ariel Kurpiewski and center Seth Tobias notched two assists each, and goaltender Eric Moscarelli stopped 33 of 40 shots faced as RIC’s record moves to 8-1-0-2.

Robert Isabella netted two, Dan Nadeau scored his 12th of the season, and Robert Atwell, J.P. Caparco, Rob Reall and Ariel Kurplewski each scored once as RIC buried former champions Daniel Webster College 7-0 at Conway Arena. Eric Moscarelli stopped all 37 shots faced for the first RIC shutout of the season. Nick Gannon and Seth Tobias finished the game with 3 assists and 2 assists respectively.

Rob Reall recorded a hat trick as RIC came from behind to notch a 6 to 5 nail biting victory over Coast Guard Academy on Nov. 20th. Captain Dan Nadeau scored a goal and had an assist, while Kyle Short and Seth Tobias also scored for the Anchormen. Goaltender Eric Moscarelli stopped 26 of 31 in the first two periods, while John Sgambato held Coast Guard scoreless in the third period, stopping all 11 shots faced. With this win, RIC improves their record to 7-1-0-1, and makes their league record 1-0.

Captain Dan Nadeau notched his 10th goal of the season, freshman Nico Drougas scored his second, and freshman Rob Reall scored his first while J.P. Caparco pocketed his 7th and 8th assists as RIC glided by Merrimack 3-1. Eric Moscarelli stopped 24 of 25 and held Merrimack scoreless until late in the third period, helping to improve RIC’s record to 6-1-0-1.
